Pepper Benefits

Do you use pepper? Well if you do you will really enjoy this blog! Not only does it kick your meal up a few notches it has tremendous health benefits.

Let's cover two today! Black Pepper and Cayenne Pepper!

First, let's start with Black Pepper. My father is probably the number one consumer of black pepper. He eats it on everything! And I mean everything lol. I use to joke with my friends and tell them that he even put it in the tub with him.  Ok, that was a total fabrication but he does make his white grits turn into black grits. My Mother loves it this way too. At least they are getting the benefits of black pepper.

A few fun facts about black pepper:

Antioxidant vitamins A and C help to prevent cell damage, cancer, and diseases related to aging, and they support immune function. They also reduce inflammation like that found in arthritis and asthma. Vitamin K promotes proper blood clotting, strengthens bones, and helps protect cells from oxidative damage.

Potassium, another mineral in black pepper, helps improve your stomach's ability to digest foods and promotes intestinal health. Because black pepper is carminative, it discourages intestinal gas from forming, and as a bonus, the outer layer of the peppercorn aids in the breakdown of fat cells.

Now let's make it clear. the more fresh the more benefits. So do your best to use the freshest version as possible.

Now let's talk about Cayenne Pepper.
