How to make Pinto Beans

How to make Pinto Beans

You will need:

  • 1 Bag of Pinto Beans
  • 1 Large Green Pepper
  • 1 Large White or Yellow Onion.
  • 1 Large Pot
  • 2 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil
(When using Dry Beans please remember to soak them over night for maximized results.)

In your large pot add water.
Season your water with Adobo, salt, and pepper.
Before adding your pinto beans make sure to clean them. Some bags have seeds and
shells in them so make sure your sort, clean, and rinse.
Chop up your onion and green pepper into small pieces.
When the water begins to boil, add your pinto beans in. Also, add your onions and peppers. Turn the heat down to medium and cover them.
The Pinto beans will take a few hours to completely cook and you should have more water than beans in the pot.
Check on them every 20 mins. The water will eventually become gravy. It will thicken
up as the minutes go by. Make sure the bottom of the pot is being stirred every 10
minutes to avoid burning. Remember lower is better especially when the water surrounding the pinto beans become a gravy.  You can add more seasoning for flavor and fresh vegetables.
This is also a great dish for the crock pot.

In the separate pot make your rice.

After the rice and pinto beans are complete, put your rice onto a plate and add your
pinto beans! Enjoy this awesome winter meal.
You can also use the left over pinto beans for tacos, burritos, taco salads, veggie burgers and much more.
