Soak Your Beans!

Hello Hello Hello!

Today I want to take about a simple step that I see people make when making dry beans. The only dry bean that I can think of that you can skip this step is lentils. There could be more than that But I know for sure that Lentils are one of them.

This simple step is SOAKING YOUR BEANS OVER NIGHT! Yes it takes preparation and yes it takes time but it is soon worth it! You will have tender and tasty beans instead of rough gritty beans.

So if you are cooking Pinto Beans, Black Beans, Red Beans, Garbanzo Beans (Chic Peas), White Beans. Again MOST BEANS!!!

Now if you forgot to prepare for the day before there is a method that is listed on most bags. But just in case you are using FRESH beans from the garden I will share. You can Boil the beans for 15 mins and then take it off the heat. After you take it off the heat let it sit with the lid on for 1 hour. It is the same as overnight however I prefer overnight!

Check out the pics below of how much different my chic peas look before they are soaked and after they are soaked.
